Susannah B. Grover skriver:

Dear Friends,

I’m happy to be able to announce that, after the third single weekends in both Stockholm and Oslo that there is a core group going forward now into our first Diamond Approach Scandinavian retreat in October (beginning late afternoon of Friday, the 9th through lunchtime on Wednesday, the 14th). We have found a wonderful venue in the countryside in Sweden. We are very excited about this place and about their facilities, as well as the location, equidistant to both Oslo and Stockholm (just outside of Karlstad), approximately 3 hours by car, or less time by train or plane. This will allow Swedish, Norwegian and Danish students to travel with relative ease to this place, as well as students coming from elsewhere. The place is called Angsbacka (www.angsbacka.se) and we’d like to thank the Swedish organizers, especially, for recommending it to us. The people there are very warm and welcoming and they can accommodate up to about 130 people, at this point in time (more in the future). They offer 3 or 4 levels of accommodation (they call it ‘2-star rustic’ and it is simple and comfortable quarters – nothing fancy, and maybe ideal for our purposes) – ranging from a few single, private rooms to many double rooms, to rooms of 4, 6 or 8 beds and dormitories. They also rent tents (for spring/summer), allowing for every budget, as follows:

- Double bedrooms (28 beds available) standard rate 640 SEK incl. VAT per person per night
- Four and six-bedrooms (34 beds available) standard rate 520 SEK incl. VAT per person per night
- Dormitory (15 beds available) at 480 SEK incl. VAT per person per night
- Single bedrooms (2 beds available) standard rate 820 SEK incl. VAT per person per night
- Rooms in Village (50 beds available) standard rates are the same as above and there is a mixture of double, four bed rooms and singles - as these rooms are in Lasse's house in the village we will offer you a 10% reduction on the above costs.

The tents are for people who either enjoy camping or are on a minimal budget (400 SEK for the whole retreat for renting the tent, plus 200 SEK per day for vegetarian food) – catering to the whole spectrum of students, according to their means. They also serve mostly all organic foods and/or locally bought produce. Accommodation prices include 3 vegetarian meals per day and snacks (additional cost for meat/fish is 15 SEK per person per meal). Specific, personal dietary needs and restrictions are honored as much as is possible by the cooking staff.

The total cost for October’s retreat (accommodations, teaching fees and administrative costs) will probably be between 755 and 915 Euros, depending upon which level of accommodations you choose. This includes room, board, large group teachings, small group teachings and an individual session with one of the teachers. Additional sessions may also be arranged for students wishing to do a second session, at an extra fee of 80 Euros. Payment and other details and will be sent soon to those indicating that they wish to be in the group.

Further emails will be sent to you in the next weeks with more information, but for now here is what you need to think about:
1 – writing an email letter of intent letting us know you wish to be in the group and attend the October retreat
2 – holding these dates open in your personal schedules for the October retreat
3 – requesting a questionnaire / interview application form from Susannah Grover (luminoustruenorth@gmail.com)
4 – filling out and sending in your questionnaire with a recent photo of you attached (instructions will be on the form itself)
5 – invite friends, family and colleagues, especially at the inaugural retreat in October

We are delighted to be a part of this endeavor with you, we love doing this work and have truly enjoyed being in Oslo and Stockholm and meeting some, if not most of you. We are looking forward to continuing and developing the Diamond Approach in Scandinavia and to reaching as many of you as we can. Know that there is the potential of immense benefit here, therefore, if you have felt an affinity with this precious work, we urge you strongly to come forward and participate.

Looking forward to seeing you in October.

In great and grateful happiness,
Susannah Grover, on behalf of herself and her colleagues: Gregory Beck, Marie Ali and Regina Reilly

The Diamond Approach in Norway
– Start of ongoing group in the Oslo-area 2009

20. – 22. February in Oslo
29. – 31. May in Oslo

The Diamond Approach is an Inner Work School, spiritual in nature yet also drawing from the wisdom and practice of psychotherapy and somatic body- and breath work. It is oriented towards ever deepening self-realization and self-actualization both, supporting true and unique individuation and fulfillment in everyday life. Emphasizing our True Nature in the splendor of its many aspects, as well as addressing and exploring that which blocks or obscures our access to this nature, its simple teachings are nevertheless very profound in supporting a life to transform and blossom in a true, authentic way.

After an initial introductory weekend in October of 2008 in Oslo, a provisional group is now forming in Norway, which will remain open to new participants for some time. You are welcome to attend, on an exploratory basis, either or both the February or May 2009 single weekends, to see if there is a resonance and a desire for you to continue and deepen into this precious Work. Beginning in October of 2009, the group will consolidate into a more concentrated format, for longer retreats and for ongoing work together. Those wishing to be a part of this group may apply to do so after the May 2009 weekend.

Each weekend spring 2009: 2600 NOK. Fri 19-22.30, Sat/ Sun 10-17.

October, dates yet to be decided, but somewhere between October 9. – 18., 5-6 days at a retreat center/ hotel a bit outside Oslo – maybe Tyrifjord Hotel www.tyrifjord.no – to be confirmed later. Then probably three retrats like that in same place each year.

The two weekends will be thaught by Susannah B. Grover. In the retreat there will also be other teachers.

The Diamond Approach

The Diamond Approach is a Wisdom Path, a way of approaching Reality and a method that supports one to do the work on oneself that leads to the liberation of all that is the Not-Self. It, therefore, is a path towards Self-Realization in the direction that might be called ‘transcendence of form into the boundless- formless’ as well as a path of Self-Actualization in the direction that might be called ‘the immanence of True Nature in form’. The Diamond Approach represents a new paradigm in the human/ psycho-spiritual understanding of the complete human psyche – Ego, Soul and Ground of Being.

The Ridhwan School

What was begun by A. Hameed Ali (A. H. Almaas) in 1973 eventually became the Ridhwan School, which is an inner work school devoted to the realization of True Nature. The school exists to support its students to come together to explore the Diamond Approach. The school’s educational branch, the Diamond Heart and Training Institute (DHAT) makes teachings available to the public, trains teachers/ ministers, and supports the publication of teaching material through books and audiovisuals.

The Three Tiers of the Work

Students of the Diamond Approach participate in the following ways:
• Large Group Presentation – Didactic teaching in a lecture format with exercises in dyads and triads which takes place over the course of a weekend or in a longer retreat format.
• Small Group Meetings – where one teacher meets generally with approximately 10-15 students, providing the students the opportunity to do inquiry work in front of other students to learn directly different ways inquiry can happen. Additionally, the small group can provide a greater collective field of presence to help support an individual’s work.
• Individual Teaching Sessions – the private teaching session is a one-to-one exploration between a student and teacher that provides a supportive environment for the student to explore their experience, including their ego issues as well as their direct experiences of Presence in a manner that nurtures the deepening understanding of their Being.
